What is it?
All-on-4™ dental implants, also known as teeth in a day, were designed for patients with a limited amount of bone mass in the jaw. By placing the implants in strategic locations, Dr. Moore can maximize use of available bone and often avoid the need for a bone graft. This technique has been in use for over a decade with a 98.5 percent success rate after the four year mark.
The All-on-4™ technique was designed to be used specifically on patients who have suffered bone loss as a result of missing teeth or removable dentures. In most cases, there is no need for a bone graft which makes this a great solution for patients with low bone density.
How does it work?
Before beginning the procedure, Dr. Moore will administer a numbing agent to minimize any pain or discomfort. Then, four implants will be placed in predetermined locations where bone density is the greatest. A temporary denture is attached to the implants so that immediate function is enabled. After about three to six months, the area will have fully healed and a new permanent set of prosthetics can be put in place.
The key to the All-on-4™ technique is the placement of the implants. This involves placing two implants in the front of the mouth and two more in the back of the mouth. The two front implants are placed at 90 degree angles while the two back implants are put in at 45 degree angles. This strategic placement is designed so that the implants provide enough leverage to bite and chew food without coming loose.
Even if you have experienced bone loss, you may still be able to benefit from dental implants. To learn more about teeth in a day in Buford, GA, contact Dr. Moore and schedule your consultation today!
